This new issue of TYPE-MOON Ace magazine also revealed that the release of the adaptation in animation film produced by ufotable is planned for 2023. At the moment we don’t have any more information, but here you have the first visual and the teaser that we already knew:

The return of Mahōtsukai no Yoru did not happen by chance, since the bases of the visual novel were important for the development of the first part of the Tsukihime remake, whose first part was released on August 26 on Switch and PS4 in Japan as Tsukihime -A piece of blue crystal moon-. You should know that the quality of Mahōtsukai no Yoru had not gone unnoticed at the time of its release on PC, to the point that the VN benefits from a translation by fans for the first time… in French. this is the team moon-traditional who managed all the work, and a final patch was released in 2020. Another group of fans, the French association Archetype-Moonhas also put together a guide on how to install the game on Windows 10.

The story of Mahōtsukai no Yoru takes place in the late 1980s, the twilight of an era filled with quirkiness and vitality, and has its heart set within a hilltop mansion where two witches live: Aoko Aozaki and Alice Kuonji. One day, a city boy, Sojuro Shizuki, crosses paths with the two witches, who live in modern times. Sojuro lived an ordinary life. Aoko lived with dignity and pride. Alicia lived hidden, as if asleep. Each of her stars had their own path. Her alignment was unthinkable. However, it wasn’t long before the three characters, who were very different from each other in every way, began to live together…

For a long time he has evoked it on several occasions, Mahōtsukai no Yoru is a work that is very close to the heart of its author, kinoko nasu, as we discuss elsewhere in this article. The visual novel was directed by monoji Tsukuri with character design Hirokazu Koyama and music composed by Hideyuki Fukasawa, who works closely with TYPE-MOON as he was also recently in charge of the Tsukihime remake OST. The VN also contains an end credits song, titled Hoshi ga Matataku Konna Yoru niperformed by the famous group supercell with river to the composition and nagiyanagi singing. You should know that at that time, TYPE-MOON was already planning two sequels, still in visual novel format. Since then, there is no concrete news, but the existence of the improved version is therefore reassuring for the future of the work.
