Murder and mystery between thirty and seventy!

Difficult to mess with a series as charming and sparkling asOnly murders in the building from Disney+. The ten episodes devour like an Agatha Christie novel peppered with effective gags and refreshing self-mockery.

The second season, online this Tuesday in French and English on Disney +, does not disappoint, far from it. It adds the great Shirley MacLaine to her five-star cast, which includes two of the biggest names in humor: Steve Martin and Martin Short.

Reclusive artist Mabel (Selena Gomez), fallen actor Charles (Steve Martin), and declining theater director Oliver (Martin Short) all live in the same heritage building on New York’s Upper West Side. The three residents of the famous Arconia, as the building is called, do not see each other, but they share an all-consuming passion for “true crime” podcasts.

When one of their neighbors is shot in the head, the three amateur sleuths team up and put together their own crime podcast. true crimethat he will find out to the police about the identity of the killer of his (luxury, obviously) apartment building.

The tenth and final episode of the first season ended with an icy slam. On her living room floor, poor Mabel (Selena Gomez) was cradling the bloodied body of Bunny, the obnoxious president of the Arconia residents committee. In parallel, Only murders in the building it never loses its original and eccentric tone. Each episode of the series takes the form of a podcast episode, delving into the rich past of many characters, more complex than they show.

Among the new faces ofOnly murders in the buildingyou will discover the hilarious Amy Schumer in her own role, who moves to the penthouse where the singer Sting lived in the previous season. Model and comedian Cara Delevingne plays an art gallery owner who takes an interest in Mabel’s work and whose intentions are confused.

The brilliant Tina Fey reprises her mini-role as Cinda Caning, a star podcaster who starts a podcast: Only killers in the building – about our three friends Mabel, Charles and Oliver.

As for Shirley MacLaine, she plays Bunny’s mother and her rich personal story will lead our detectives down winding paths.

Throughout the episodes, the viewer juggles assorted puzzle pieces like a million dollar erotic painting, hidden elevators, racy secrets from the past, and rivalries dating back to the 1970s. Once again, Martin Short inherit the most powerful responses. He is hilarious.
